DISCLAIMER: Uhh... Sorry, I forgot where I got one of the ANKHs. When I get the
time go go back and look I'll update this guide. If you need any more hints
please feel free to e-mail me. Or if you have some hints you like to see
put into this guide e-mail me. Basically I just put in hints for parts that
weren't immediately apparent to me. Obviously this doesn't hold true for
everybody. I realize this is a sketchy guide but I didn't feel that the
game was difficult enough to justify a full walkthru. (There are PLENTY
of REALLY ANNOYING parts though - that lava shaft, the jumping across the
poison pool w/o ANKLETS, etc... ) All in all, I did have fun with this
game despite the annoying parts. Hope you do to.

NOTES: The following guide is meant to 1) show what the goals of each board
are and what you NEED to succeed. (Actually that's not entirely true, for
instance you CAN get to the Canyon of Chaos w/o the Feather, but anyway)
The [] enclose those items needed to accomplish each goal. Also, when it
comes to symbols within the [], they are given in the order in which must
acquire and use them! Its pretty easy to tell approximately where the
Transmitter Pieces are in the game. You get a nice hot/cold beep to lead
you there!

& jump/float to Up/Dn ledge when its @top then turn & jump immediately
(Yes, it sucks!) Back thru Hieroglyp door of Power Symbol.

Nile Gorge:
1) [Time,Power,War,Earth] - Camel (To Thoth Treasure Reliquary)
HINTS: 1) Power behind corner pylon underwater.
2) Earth thru underwater tunnel under Earth door
2) [Time] TRANSMITTER #4 Pool w/underwater shaft, blast through corner
wall at bottom.

Thoth Treasure Reliquary:
1) [Time,War,Earth] - PROTECTIVE ANKLETS HINT: Look @ground just before
entering lav tunnel. Blast & float down to Earth symbol.
2) [Time,War, FEATHER] - Camel (to Canyon's of Chaos) - Alright you CAN
make the jump but it's a BIG PAIN!

Heket Marsh:
1) [Time,Power,War,Earth] - Camel (To Sunken Palace of Khnum)
2) [Time] - COBRA STAFF
3) [Time, SCEPTER] - TRANSMITTER #5 - As you're dropping into pool inside
Time Door room.

Sunken Palace of Khnum:
1) [Time,Earth,War,Power] - Camel (To Deserted Slave Camp)
HINT: when you pick up symbol of Power GET OUT!!! or you'll be sealed in.
Two openings ahead, take one on right for Full Weapons.

Deserted Slave Camp:
1) [Power,Time,Earth,War] - Camel (To Selkis Path)
2) [Power,Time, FEATHER] - TRANSMITTER #6 - you may be able to do this w/o
the FEATHER. If you can more power to your gaming skills. But I
wouldn't recommend it. Oh... It's ahead of the fireballs that are
shooting at a downward angle.

Selkis Path:
1) [Power,War,Earth] - Camel (To Selkis Burrow)

Selkis Burrow:
1) [Beat Selkis] - SCEPTER Just play duck & run. Save Full Weapons in
Selkis' room as long as possible . consider Scorpions left when Selkis
dies as a nice bonus.

Magma Paths
1) [] - RING OF RA Drop to lava pit when you come in & hit switch behind door
2) [] - TRANSMITTER PIECE #7 - 1st Up/Dn platform that you see. Jump to next
Up/Dn platform & follow.
3) [] - Camel (To Horus Peak) HINT: After floating down lava tunnel (use
map to center yourself so you don't touch walls) Kill 1st Magmantis for
Full Health & open passage out, kill 2nd for Full Weapons.

Horus Peak:
1) [] - HORUS FEATHER
HINTS: 1st Lava pit w/Magmantisis - avoid them, hit swtiches & GET OUT
2nd Lava pit (Tall w/ledge switches) - kill 1st 4 Magmantisis by staying
where you dropped & hittem them w/M-60 & Ring. Avoid their fireballs by
retreating & jumping. Get 1st swtich. Jump to 2nd swtich then drop back
down for 3rd (door now open). Reset by stepping on switch. Kill 2 more
Magmantisis. Make sure you hit all 3 swtiches ONCE after resetting
fireballs. When all silent make your way up to the top.

Canyons Of Chaos:
1) [] - SACRED MANACLE HINT: From where you start, follow left to end of
ledge then float around to left
2) [Earth,Power,Time] - Camel (to Kilmaat Colony) HINT: BE Patient with
this board. I could describe this board in more detail but its damn hard.
If you find a sealed door and you're facing a Magmantis... Well, kill it
to unseal the door (this is required 2 or 3 times) otherwise avoid them.
3) [] - TRANSMITTER #8 Around and up to the topmost level there is a ledge
shooting blue fireballs.

Kilmaat Colony:
1) [Power,Time,War] - Camel (To Kilmaat Haunt)
HINTS: Blow out panel right of entrance. Drop to poow, blow sewer cover &
follow tunner to door to step switch. Back thru water to ledge & door to
Symbol of Power. Jump up ledge & grenade next ledge up. Back to
beginning thru fireball tunnel. Through power to door to left to floating
floor. Let it drop then drop & float to Symbol of Time. Now follow
tunnel to pool. Blow open ceiling panel in room. Go back to floating
floor, follow passage & drop into room. Through Time Door. Hit swtich &
follow lava tunnel to floor swtich. Jump on ledge left of Time Door & up
to next level. Go to ledge w/Up/Dn ledge and drop down thru hole
(ceiling) you blaster earlier to get Symbol of War. Go all the way back
to Time Door romm & take ledge up . Drop into room w/War Door.

Kilmaat Haunt --> Kilmaat Arena:
Just concentrate on firing, circling & NOT FALLING OFF!

END #1) w/o Transmitter --> join Ramses in realm of dead. Kilmaat come back to
excavate your remains. (Oh Joy!)
END #2) w/Transmitter --> Ramses gives you gift of immortality & ability to rule
over all you survey. Get Out??? (Yes, I said you still have to get out!
How annoying!) You become King of World.

POWERSLAVE TIPS

A few things I found playing Powerslave.

Mummies ETC. - If there is any water nearby when fighting a mummy, lure him
to the water and jump in (do this to escape his seeking missles
as well). Do not go underwater but stay on the surface and the missles will
not harm you. Then you can kill the mummy when he gets near with whatever
you wish. The grenade is usually the best. I found one time that a missle
kept circling and wouldn't explode so I just swam around in the water until
I lined myself up so it would come at me face on at this point it exploded
harmlessly.

When there is more than one mummy, by dodging in and out of a corner or
wall edge you can get them near each other then they will fight amongst
themselves and then you can go and kill them while they fight or fight the
remaining one. The same happens if a scorpion or wasp gets near a mummy or
the egyptian dudes, they will start fighting. I haven't seen the egyptians
fight amongst themselves yet.

Also if the mummies come up against a wall or ledge and you are in sight or
dodge in and out of site they will walk towards you until they stop against
the obsticale and keep shooting at you thereby destroy themselves from the
blast of their own weapons hitting the obstacle. A good example of this is
the mummy in "Cavern of Peril" just after you go down the sloping corridor
near the beginning and turn the corner a mummy will start firing at you in
the distance but there is a tall step there and he will come up against it
and end up killing himself, duh. :)

THE END OF LEVEL MONSTER IN SET ARENA

This was provided by Gary Chop.

When you first encounter the monster in Set Arena throw amun grenades at
hin until he starts jumping then switch to the machine gun and keep hitting
him and everytime he jumps spin around real quick 180 degrees and start
hitting him right away (also move away from him when firing if he
approaches you before jumping). If you can do this and spin around quick
enough you will kill him before he starts firing the seeking skull missles.

ANOTHER TRICK

If you are ever starting a level with low energy or weapons go the the Set
Arena and get the weapons and energy boost in the lava pit. The energy
boost will top up your energy and the weapons boost will boost ALL your
weapons.

Now go to the begining of the Set Arena travel on the camel to the level
you where at or want to go to save your game before you start that level
unless you want to do the Set Arena again if you die. :)

Powerslave Dolls

Greetings! I thought I'd send this stuff along to
both of you at once since you seem to share my same
enthusiasm for this awesome title.
Below is the e-mail I got from Lee at PIE--he said this
gives the levels where the "regularly acquired" dolls can
be found (ie. without dolphin or flight mode) and a hint
about their locations. When appropriate, I've included
excat directions:

1) Sobek Pass: Behind a key lies the way to the symbol
of life...
2) Sobek Mt. Shrine: On a wall at eye level... over
certain death
3) Set Arena: Two columns room... grenades and a
hidden switch...
up. On the ledge across the room, bomb the wall behind the
weapon power-up to find the secret door--then e-mail me if
you can find the damned switch to open it!

4) Nile Gorge: Don't exit right away...
reliquary; you'll come to an upside-down room with one of
the dolls inside

5) Magma Fields: At the entrance... you're getting
hotter...

6) Horus Peak: Bomb the lava fall...
you'll come to a floating platform facing the lava falls.
Jump over the falls to the next platform, turn around, and
bomb that side of the falls about half way down. You'll
open a very small tunnel with a doll at the end of it.
There is NO WAY I have found to not get burned a little by
the lava on the floor of the tunnel. Even with the
levatation feather, I have not been able to fly in
unscathed

7) Sunken Palace: Take the left door...
bomb the
life
8) Canyons of Chaos: It's a weak wall up high...

9) On the way to the helicopter: Make sure you
have a full bar of
grenades...
a long stone wall on your left. In the middle of the wall
is a very small shadow. Bomb the shadow to open up a
passage. The rest of the stage is self-explanatory, bomb a
wall if it is a different color from the rest of the walls,
activate the door if it doesn't look like you can bomb it,
or follow the floating platforms up to the switches to
open the doors. You will need ALL your bomb energy as
there were about 20 or so doors to bomb. The doll will be
in a small inlet to your left just as you're leaving the
tunnels (you'll be able to hear the chopper again by
then).
10) Kilmaat Haunt: Don't give up everything...
all your artifacts to open the gate to the final boss
stage, but I haven't confirmed yet

Others I know the location of, but haven't been able to
reach without special game mode yet:

Karnak Sanctuary: there's a green slime swamp with a small
block and a full weapon power up on it in one of the first
4 or 5 rooms of the stage. Once you get the anklets or
feather, you can travel down the swamp to a bridge. Under
the left side of the bridge is a wall to bomb. There's a
room with 5-6 anubis monsters. At the back of the room is
a water way. At the end of the waterway is a ledge w/the
doll on it, but you have to have dolphin mode to jump up to
the ledge.

Haunt: drop to the lower rings under Ramses mummified
body, turn back to the direction of the door and you'll see
the doll floating in mid air. JUMP from the ring over to
the doll (there's an invisible bridge w/a gap in the
middle). Lee's clue suggests that if you keep the jumping
sandals, you should be able to jump back up to the upper
rings and exit the stage.

Ramses Tomb: Just to the right of the entrance, there's a
plain looking wall with a very small crack in it near the
floor. Bomb the wall--there's a LOT of scorpions and
power-up pots behind the wall. Another waterway leads you
to a well with a big brick X over the top. Bomb the top of
the well. When you have the dolphin mode, you should be
able to swim up and out of the well to get the doll.

Karnak: when you come out of the long tunnel leading to a
wading pool and waterfall, bomb the very top of the falls.
Another bomb will take out the wall on the right of that
platform. You'll need flight mode to make it up to the top
of the falls and get the doll.

Treasure Reliquary: Bomb the pedestal where you got the
anklets. In the basement below it is another doll. You'll
need flight mode to fly up out of the basement.

Selkis Burrow: blow up the gray wall at the bottom of the
spiral staircase at the very beginning of the stage. Press
the switch. Another section of wall lowers. Press the
next switch. A section of the floor back up the spiral
staircase has now moved, making a wedge shaped opening in
the floor. Drop down through the opening, then with flight
mode fly up the shaft and get the doll in the little
anti-room at the top.

Observations

I sure like the authenticity of some of the weapons and stuff in
Powerslave, especially the flame thrower (that is my last weapon so far). I
like how the flame moves like there was a wind when you are walking with
it, also it is neat when you use it on the wasps if you give them a short
burst from a long distance they will burn slighty for a short time then the
flames go out and they are still alive (just like you would expect the
flames to react). If you give them a short burst a little closer up they
will burst into flames a live for awhile and can sting you will they are
burning up. Then a short burst up close totally burns them right up, pritty
neat.

Also the one water area I went into in the Gorge had waves, that was really
neat, they looked really good.

Also throwing grenades on the surface of the water at something on the
shore you actually splash up water as your hand moves to throw the grenade.

Of course there are the cool effects of the light from missles moving down
the corridors as the missle moves.

Pritty cool stuff.
