A bunch of people have been telling me about how I can get certain trophy balls
from certain holes... I'm not sure WHY people have been telling me about it,
but it has inspired me to expand my FAQ to include strategies to get those
Trophy Balls. So, now my "complete" FAQ is MORE complete. ^_^

Welcome to my strategy guide for Tiger Woods 2002, for the Playstation 2!
Thanks in advance for reading.

Ah, the sport of golf. Some say that it's a good walk ruined by a little white
ball. As true as that may be, at least rounds don't take nearly as long on a
game as they do in real life.

This FAQ will not repeat any information in the manual, nor will it teach you
how to swing or anything like that. Under Game Modes, then Scenarios, you can
learn how to play the game by selecting the Tour Card scenario. That will give
you a much better lesson at playing than anything I can write.

I will skim over the game modes, but only to say the differences and how much
money they'll make you. Otherwise, this guide will focus on beating the
competition.

+-------------+
2. GAME MODES
+-------------+

Stroke Play: This is a basic game. You can play alone or with up to three
others, and any combination of computer and human opponents. You won't make
that much cash with this mode.

Match Play: This game is played with two golfers. The match goes hole-by-hole,
and whoever scores better wins that hole. If the players tie, they "halve" the
hole, and no one takes any lead. This allows you to completely blow one hole
and still have a chance at coming back to win. If a player is up by 1 hole with
one hole left to play (or 2 holes with two left to play, etc.), they are
"Dormie." That means that the leading player only needs to TIE the next hole to
win the match. Match Play can be pretty dang lucrative.

Skins: This game is played with at least two players. This mode also goes
hole-by-hole, with the winner taking a sum of money. If two players tie, the
money carries over to the next hole. Everyone keeps however much money they
won, so it's a pretty decent place to gain cash.

Tournaments: You can enter one of 10 tournaments to get a large monetary prize
for a win. Some tournaments take more than one round to complete, so you have a
chance of coming back if you blew the first round, although some are one round
only.

Practice: You can pick whichever hole on any course and practice it. You can
even move the ball around to practice shots for particular trouble spots.

Speed Golf: New to the Tiger Woods series, this mode pits one or two humans
against each other, and IS restricted to humans only. If there's only one human
playing, you're going for score. If there's two, you're going for money. In
head-to-head, both players start with equal amounts of money. Whenever any
player does anything significant, like fire a long drive or sink the putt
before your opponent, you'll steal money from his bank. When one player is
bankrupt, the game ends and the winner keeps his money.

Tiger Challenge: Perhaps the meat-and-potatoes of the game as far as earning
money goes. You play a match game against a computer opponent that's rather
strong (at least, he or she is in the later challenges), and if you win, you
get a large amount of cash. At its base, this is simply a Match Play, but
playing through it unlocks holes of Tiger's Dream 18 and other golfers.

Scenarios: There are 26 scenarios that you can play through for money. This
will improve not only your bankroll but your personal skills as well.

+--------------+
3. GAME BASICS
+--------------+

Golf is not about power. While you typically want to launch your drive as far
as humanly possible, the rest of your shots require accuracy more than power.

Whenever you're ready to fire a shot that is not on the fairway, check your lie
to determine what club to use. I'll get into the specific calculation in a
moment.

While wind does have an impact on your ball, you have to remember that wind can
only affect the ball while it's in the air. If you use a low shot or a club
with a low arc, wind won't matter as much. Also, the wind only seriously moves
your ball when it's moving more than 4 MPH.

Also affecting the distance is the height of your target. If you're hitting to
someplace above you, you need to put a little extra strength in your shot. If
you're hitting someplace lower, you need a weaker shot.

There are four types of shots: Full, Approach, Flop, and Punch. Full shots are
full swings, in which the arc of the ball is determined by the club. Approach
shots are medium arcs that roll. They don't go very far, only a maximum of 60
yards, and can only be shot with wedges. Flop shots are extremely high arcs
that don't roll. They serve simply to flop onto a particular piece of the
course, normally used to get out of a sandtrap that's bordering the green.
Punch shots are low-arc shots that spend little time in the air, more or less
cutting wind out of the equation, although you won't get nearly the distance
you would on a full shot.

Until you get to the green, all four shots are available. Once you're on the
green, you either have to putt or use an approach shot.

If it's raining, the ball will not roll as far, which also slightly affects
your putting. However, your putting caddy will compensate, so you won't need to
add power.

+-------------------+
3a. Lie Calculation
+-------------------+

The very first calculation you should do when determining what club to use is
the lie calculation. Whenever you're ready for a shot, check the lie in the
bottom-right corner. This displays a percentage, which directly affects the
power of your next shot. For example, if you're buried in the sand, you may
only get about 55% of your power. That means to launch a ball 55 yards, you'll
need to hit it with a club that would normally send it 100 yards.

The calculation is simple, although you may want a calculator for some of it.
Divide the distance to the pin by the percentage. For example, if the distance
to the hole is 150 yards, and the ball is in the rough to get only 71% of the
power, the calculation is 150 / .71 = 212 (rounded up).

Always calculate from the lowest number on the range. If the number is 56 - 61,
calculate from 56.

Don't just rely on this calculation, however. You still have to factor wind and
altitude when you take your shot.

+------------------------+
4. HOLE-BY-HOLE STRATEGY
+------------------------+

This section will list EVERY hole of EVERY course, and give you targets and
such to aim for. All of these are done on the blue (medium) tees and the medium
pins. If you're dealing with harder tees and pins, your drive will need to be
longer and your putts will be more complex. Easier tees give shorter distances
and easier pins give relaxed greens.

I'll list the pars and handicaps (HCP) of each hole. The handicaps range from 1
to 18, and they rank the difficulty of the hole. 1 is the hardest hole on each
course, and 18 is the easiest.

+----------------+
4a. Pebble Beach
+----------------+

Ah, beautiful Pebble Beach. This course features a wide variety of holes, but
most of them are easy. This is a good place to get your feet wet in golf.

Hole 1: 376 Yards
Par 4
HCP 8

This hole features an immediate dogleg right. You can attempt to truncate the
rough if you're aggressive, although it's not as nessecery. If you want to try
it, make sure you don't use a club with so much power that you end up launching
the ball into the far rough or sand. The shot is uphill, though not enough to
need too much additional power.

Your second shot will basically be right at the pin, so you don't need to do
much thinking about it. It's uphill, but not much. From there, a few putts will
finish the hole.

Hole 2: 484 Yards
Par 5
HCP 10

Your first shot off the tee is straight down the middle. Your only real worry
is getting past the sand that stands between the tee and fairway, but you
shouldn't have any trouble. Just grab your driver and launch it.

Your second shot may very well get to the green. If you don't think you can
make it, just try to get as close as you can. You should be able to easily make
the green from here, be it in one or two shots, because there are few obstacles
between you and the green.

Hole 3: 374 Yards
Par 4
HCP 12

This hole features an immediate dogleg left. There's very little distance on
the fairway from the tee shot. You can try to hook your shot to make it travel
a bit along the fairway if you're feeling aggressive. If you're feeling REALLY
aggressive and have a lot of power, you can seriously truncate the rough and
trees, possibly even getting to the green in one. Still, I couldn't do that
with 91 Power, so stay conservative until you know for sure that you could make
it.

Your second shot will be straight on to the green. The green itself is quite
flat, so your putt won't be too leathal.

Hole 4: 327 Yards
Par 4
HCP 16

This is an obscenely short par 4. Your first shot needs to be slightly precise
so you don't wind up in either of the bunkers bordering the green. This is a
nasty uphill shot, so you'll probably wind up several yards short of your
aiming target. The second shot is straight-forward to the green. The green is
slightly hilly, but it's nothing to be concerned about.

Hole 5: 187 Yards
Par 3
HCP 14

As with any par 3, your tee shot needs to be long enough to get to the green,
but short enough that it doesn't roll off. There's a slight downhill between
the tee and green. Therefore, lay your first shot slightly shorter than the
hole, and you'll be more than fine to finish with putts.

Hole 6: 500 Yards
Par 5
HCP 2

Your first shot is an extreme downhill shot that will roll to the right. Aim
slightly to the left to keep your second shot in the center of the fairway, but
don't aim too far left or you'll bury it in the bunker.

Your second shot is a nasty uphill blast, and it's mostly blind. Unless you
have high power, you may not make the green in two. You'll definitely have to
add a club or two to get to the green. Due to the hill, the ball won't be in
the air too long, making the wind far less of an issue.

If you can't make the green in two, your third shot will be just a little tap
to where you want it. The green is slightly hilly, but nothing too difficult.

Hole 7: 106 Yards
Par 3
HCP 18

This is the easiest hole on the course, for good reason it's a measly 106 yards
with a big, flat green. The challenge is in the sheer drop: the pin is 28 feet
below the tee. Definitely go back a club for this shot, or at least do not put
full power into it.

Hole 8: 416 Yards
Par 4
HCP 6

Your first shot is severely uphill. It will roll a bit, taking wind out of
issue. Make sure your shot isn't a full blast with your driver, because that
will probably send the ball into the water.

Your second shot is downhill, but not enough to affect your aim. The challenge
is in clearing the water to get to the green, but it's relatively flat, so your
aim can be right at the flag. The putts should be easy as well.

Hole 9: 462 Yards
Par 4
HCP 4

The first shot will take the hill and go to the right, so aim a bit left, but
blast it. If you can catch the hill correctly, your drive may exceed 320 yards,
even if your golfer has low power. The second shot will go to a very narrow
green, so a precision shot is required. Luckily, the green is flat, so you can
aim for the flag and be safe.

Hole 10: 430 Yards
Par 4
HCP 7

The fairway is extremely open, although there is a hill that leads to the
right. Aim slightly to the left of the center of the fairway and blast it. From
there, you'll have a short, head-on shot to the green.

Hole 11: 373 Yards
Par 4
HCP 5

You'll have a nasty uphill to deal with, but the fairway is quite open. Blast
the ball toward the center of the fairway. Your second shot should be straight
forward to land on the uphill green.

Hole 12: 201 Yards
Par 3
HCP 17

This par 3 is challenging because you'll need a club strong enough to cover the
distance without sending it off the green. The green is relatively flat, but
it's rather downhill from the tee. Therefore, you won't need a full blast, but
one that's a bit short from the pin.

Hole 13: 393 Yards
Par 4
HCP 9

This hole is completely straight. Just blast it for the first shot, and give a
tap for the second. The hole is on a weird hill, making the putt a little
weird.

Hole 14: 572 Yards
Par 5
HCP 1

This is the hardest hole on the course. The first shot curves right, and trees
prevent you from truncating the rough too much. You may want to use a wood
instead of your driver, else you may blast it into the far rough. The second
shot probably won't get to the green, and there may be a tree sitting between
you and the pin (that tree isn't planted in that spot for no reason). If you're
confident, try to blast your shot OVER the tree and to the green. If you're not
so confident, lay up short for an easy third shot.

The green is a nasty hill that goes every which way, making quite a challenging
putt. Don't be surprised if you only make par on this one.

Hole 15: 396 Yards
Par 4
HCP 13

This one features a very slight dogleg left. You can truncate the curve by
blasting your tee shot over the trees just to your left. The second shot will
be an easy approach shot to a relatively flat green.

Hole 16: 401 Yards
Par 4
HCP 11

Your first shot needs to get past the nasty bunker on the right side of the
fairway. There's a hill toward the end of the fairway that will take the ball a
little farther, and a little to the right. The fairway is quite narrow, so you
need to be careful of your shot aim. The green is flat, and it will take a
light approach shot for your second stroke.

Hole 17: 174 Yards
Par 3
HCP 15

This is a short par 3 to a green that's almost level to the tee. Your tee shot
needs to have enough legs to get to the pin, so pick a club that gets you at
least 174 yards.

Hole 18: 543 Yards
Par 5
HCP 3

The final hole of Pebble Beach is long and relatively challenging. It's a long
curve to the left that is bordered by water on the left, and has strategically
placed trees on the right and in the center.

Don't try to be a hero on this one. If you try to truncate the water too much,
you'll end up dunking the ball. Aim to the center of the fairway, but let it
fly. The fairway is long and wide, making precision shots less important.

The second shot will not only have to beat the water, but it needs to beat a
large bunker as well. You can reach the green in two, but make sure not to
blast it too hard to send it off the green. If you're not feeling that
confident, try a conservative shot as close to the green as possible. The green
is large and on a nasty hill, so be careful in your putts.

+---------------------+
4b. Copperhead Canyon
+---------------------+

The first fantasy course available to you features large cliffs and difficult
greens. You'll need quite a bit of skill to get low scores on this one!

Hole 1: 329 Yards
Par 4
HCP 12

Until you have ridiculous power, you won't be able to clear the stream on your
first shot. Hit the first shot to lay up a little short of the stream, but you
still want it as close as possible. The second shot will get to the green, but
it's a nasty uphill shot to a very narrow green. Putts are difficult here, and
you'll probably only make par or worse your first few attempts.

Hole 2: 465 Yards
Par 5
HCP 4

This is a short par 5. The challenge lies in the many streams and rocks
scattered around the hole. The first shot needs to get to the fairway as close
to the right as possible, but if you aim or swing wrong, you may find sand,
water, or rocks. An ideal aiming point is to blast the ball as hard as you can
between the first two rocks you see (they flank a little bramble bush). That
should have the power to clear the white sands of the bunker and plop onto the
fairway.

The cliff blocks the way to get to the green in two. You'll need a short shot
across the thin stream to the next green. It's about 125 yards away, which
should be an easy shot. Your third shot will be uphill, directly at the flag.
The green is narrow, but relatively flat.

Hole 3: 145 Yards
Par 3
HCP 18

The easiest hole in Copperhead Canyon is basically two islands with a huge drop
between them. Your tee shot will fly, so be careful about how much power you're
putting into the blast. The green is a little hilly, but it's nothing too bad.
You'll see far worse as the course moves along.

Hole 4: 386 Yards
Par 4
HCP 8

Your first shot will take a hill, taking the ball a little farther than your
aiming mark. Just anticipate the hill, and place your tee shot directly in the
center of the fairway to avoid winding up in the bunkers flanking the fairway.
Your second shot will go to another narrow green. This green features a hill
that will bring the ball back toward you, so put a little extra power into your
shot.

Hole 5: 342 Yards
Par 4
HCP 14

Your first shot, if shot too hard, will wind up in a white sand bunker. You'll
need to hit a hard shot, though, and aim for the left edge of the left fairway.
The right fairway is much more narrow, but it will give you a better approach
to the green. It's your choice, but I typically go to the right fairway because
I have killer approach shots. Either way, your approach shot will be short and
downhill. The hole is on a hill, but it won't be too hard to putt.

Hole 6: 538 Yards
Par 5
HCP 2

This is an extremely difficult hole if you're trying to go for an eagle. There
are two ways to deal with it.

You see, there are two fairways, left and right of the huge rock just to the
right. If you go left, the fairway is much wider. From there, you can lay up a
short shot to the fairway on the right, THEN go to the green. That's the safest
route. Or, you can try to get from the left fairway directly to the green, but
that takes a rather powerful second shot.

The other way is to take the right fairway. It's MUCH narrower and much farther
from the tee, so you'll need large power and accuracy. Once you get there
though, you can take a hill downward toward the green. From there is an easy
shot to the flag.

Hole 7: 332 Yards
Par 4
HCP 10

This hole is another that gives a choice of fairways. Go left to have a wider
fairway, but go right to have a better approach. The right fairway has a large
bunker going down the middle, and it's already quite narrow, plus you'll have
to snake your shot around rocks. If you have high power and accuracy, you may
want to attempt it.

Either way, your second shot will be a short little hop to a green with a hill
that will take your ball away from the tee. Watch your putts.

Hole 8: 194 Yards
Par 3
HCP 16

Two islands, one with the tee, one with a huge and flat green. Blast it to the
flag and follow up with an easy putt.

Hole 9: 398 Yards
Par 4
HCP 6

Another choice. Go left to have a better drive, go right to have a better
approach. The putt should not be too difficult.

Hole 10: 562 Yards
Par 5
HCP 3

Aim the first shot to the right, blasting it over the brambles. You'll land on
a decently wide fairway for a good second shot. Just be careful to dodge the
bunkers on the way. You MIGHT be able to get to the green from there, but
chances are that you can't. Lay your second shot forward to make it land just
before the stream. That will give you an easy approach shot on your third
stroke.

Hole 11: 381 Yards
Par 4
HCP 7

Your first shot will hit a hill early, so it won't get nearly the distance
you'll want. Blast it hard and get it between the bunkers. The second shot is
uphill to a narrow green. You'll need a strong club to get it there. The green
is pretty flat and shouldn't pose you any problems.

Hole 12: 161 Yards
Par 3
HCP 17

Why isn't this the easiest hole on the course? Because there's a 108-foot drop
from the tee to the green. You have to CAREFULLY judge this distance, going
back perhaps as many as two clubs to get the shot that you need. This shot will
not roll at all, and will pretty much go splat at the point it hits the ground.
The green is quite flat, so putting won't be a challenge.

Hole 13: 358 Yards
Par 4
HCP 11

The first shot needs to come short of the distant bunker, so a driver may not
be the best option. Your second shot will go up a nasty hill, so you'll need a
little extra power to get to the flag. The green is hilly, so be careful.

Hole 14: 367 Yards
Par 4
HCP 9

With all the streams here, you'll have to be careful of your aim. Just shoot
for the farthest island that you can safely reach. No matter where your first
shot lands, your second shot is a little uphill blast to a quite flat green.

Hole 15: 206 Yards
Par 3
HCP 15

A long par 3 is up now. Like most of the other par 3s, this one is two islands
seperated by the Grand Canyon. Blast it to clear the gap, then putt on the flat
green to finish the hole.

Hole 16: 425 Yards
Par 4
HCP 5

Your first shot will go flying down a hill and will roll slightly to the left.
You may be able to clear the bunker if you have high power, but if not, lay up
beside the bunker. You should have an easy uphill shot from there to the green,
although it's uphill, so you'll need a bit more power. The green has a nasty
hill, so be careful when putting.

Hole 17: 322 Yards
Par 4
HCP 13

It *is* possible to reach the green in one, but it's extremely hard and
requires you to have ridiculous power. Assuming you don't want to take that
route, fire your first shot toward the flag, laying up short of the cliff. From
there, fire your second shot across the gap and toward the hole. The green is
quite flat, giving you an easy putt.

Hole 18: 802 Yards!!!
Par 5
HCP 1

The final hole of Copperhead Canyon is also the hardest. The first shot is easy
to a wide, open fairway. Just blast it as hard as you can, but be careful to
clear the gap and bunker. Your second shot should also be as strong as
possible. Fire it to land between all the bunkers. You might be able to reach
the green on your third shot, but if not, aim it to the right to lay up short
of the green. Try not to truncate the cliff too much, because it's very easy to
send the ball out of bounds. The green is relatively flat, giving you an easy
putt despite the other long, precision shots.

Fred Dietrich (fishy1514@hotmail.com) points out an alternate route that I
hadn't noticed...

"Also, one small thing you didnt mention on the 18th at copperhead, there is a
tiny littler finger of fairway a big hitter (300+ yd carry) can reach that
really cuts down the hole and lets you go for the green in two."

+-------------------+
4c. TPC at Sawgrass
+-------------------+

TPC at Sawgrass is my absolute favorite course in the world, plus it contains
my absolute favorite hole in the world, and I'm so glad it's also on this
year's edition of Tiger Woods.

Hole 1: 364 Yards
Par 4
HCP 12

A dogleg right is in front of you for the first shot, but truncating the
bunkers and rough may not be such a great idea unless you have high power. Your
second shot will be easy no matter where it's from, and you should be able to
open the round with a birdie.

Hole 2: 511 Yards
Par 5
HCP 16

Don't worry about those trees to the left, they won't bother you unless you
radically hook your shot. Fire it straight up the middle, taking care to lay it
short of the water and bunker. The second shot should be able to get to the
green if you have high power, and it's very easy to eagle here if you have high
power. If not, fire your second shot as close to the green as you can, then
knock in the little approach shot. The green is a little nasty, but you've had
worse.

Hole 3: 139 Yards
Par 3
HCP 18

This is the easiest hole on the course, featuring a tiny hop over the water and
sand to the green. Your shot needs to be accurate, but the wide green allows
for mistakes.

Hole 4: 339 Yards
Par 4
HCP 10

Your first shot must clear the bunkers and stream. Truncate the dogleg too far,
and you'll hit the sand. However, if you aim slightly to the right of where the
game initially puts the target, you'll be fine and even have a better approach
shot. The approach will be easy, as will the putt.

Hole 5: 408 Yards
Par 4
HCP 4

You have a choice here. You can play conservatively and shoot a weak shot to
the left, landing on the wide fairway. Or, you can try to fire a powerful shot
over the bunkers, although the fairway on the other side of them is quite
narrow. No matter where you're taking your second shot from, you can easily get
it to the green. The green is a little hilly, but nothing bad.

Hole 6: 351 Yards
Par 4
HCP 14

The first shot needs to be hit hard, but if you hit it too hard, you'll make
the ball roll off the fairway and onto the rough. Try your club that's first
down from the driver. The second shot will be an easy uphill blast to the flat
green.

Hole 7: 403 Yards
Par 4
HCP 2

Your first shot will go to a fairly wide fairway, although you'll need to aim a
little to the right to avoid splatting the ball in the sand. From there, you'll
have an easy approach shot to a forgiving green.

Hole 8: 201 Yards
Par 3
HCP 8

An easy par 3. Hit toward the flag. Simple.

Hole 9: 554 Yards
Par 5
HCP 6

Your first shot simply needs to be hit as hard as you can to get as far down
the first fairway as you can. The second shot needs to get up the fairway as
much as possible, but be careful of the trees guarding the left side of the
green. You'll have a short approach from there.

Hole 10: 373 Yards
Par 4
HCP 11

A friend of mine tried to blast the ball through the trees to the left. Trust
me, that won't work. Take your first shot forward. It will probably catch the
hill and get a few more yards toward the pin. Your second shot will be a light,
uphill shot to the flag.

Hole 11: 509 Yards
Par 5
HCP 7

Aim your first shot to the wide fairway to the right of the sand trap. You
could probably make the green in two, but if you do attempt it, put extra power
in your shot or you may not clear the bunker. If you decide to play
conservatively, put your second shot to the left of the green and sand.

Hole 12: 325 Yards
Par 4
HCP 15

You MIGHT make the green in one, but you'll need to really blast it to clear
the hill in the rough. Instead, fire forward, laying your shot a few yards
short of the bunker. Your second shot will be an easy blast to the pin.

Hole 13: 162 Yards
Par 3
HCP 17

An easy par three, although you'll need to add a little extra power to clear
all the traps.

Hole 14: 418 Yards
Par 4
HCP 3

The first shot needs to land as far along the fairway as possible. The second
shot will be an easy approach. For the "third-hardest" hole on the course, it's
quite easy.

Hole 15: 413 Yards
Par 4
HCP 5

You'll need another strong shot to get up the fairway as much as possible. Get
the second shot to the green easily, and you'll be rewarded with a nice, flat
putt.

Hole 16: 491 Yards
Par 5
HCP 9

Your first shot needs to be weak enough not to roll off and into the water. You
can't truncate the hole much due to the trees, so send your first shot on a
line as hard as you can without getting it wet. Blast your second and third
shots straight toward the flag.

Hole 17: 121 Yards
Par 3
HCP 13

My favorite hole in all of golf. There is no fairway here. The green sits in
the middle of a lake, with a bunker just toward the tee. You'll need an
accurate shot here, though luckily the green is pretty large. It's easy to dunk
the ball if you hook or slice your shot badly enough. The green is flat, and
easy to putt in.

Hole 18: 420 Yards
Par 4
HCP 1

The last hole of TPC at Sawgrass is the hardest one. Like the last hole of
Pebble beach, this hole curves left and is bordered on that side by a lake.
Truncating the curve too much will result in a wet ball, so don't take too
risky of a first shot. The second shot is an easy, straight-forward blast to
the green.

+----------------------+
4d. Princeville Resort
+----------------------+

This is a challenging course due to hilly fairways and numerous traps. You'll
need good player skills, as well as good personal skills, to get through this
one with a decent score.

Hole 1: 425 Yards
Par 4
HCP 6

The course starts out with a hole featuring more hills and curves than a roller
coaster. Your first shot needs to truncate the trees and rough as much as
possible, but be aware that your shot is going WAY downhill, so aim much more
to the right than you may do at first. Your second shot should be easy, and the
green is as flat as paper.

Hole 2: 581 Yards
Par 5
HCP 14

Launch your first shot as far as possible, but don't even bother trying to
clear the out of bounds area. Lay up as close to the trees as you can, then
fire your second shot across the gap as close to the green as you can. Make
sure that second shot is accurate, because you don't want to bury the ball in
the sand. Your third shot will be an easy tap to the green.

Hole 3: 171 Yards
Par 3
HCP 18

An easy par 3. Just clear the gap, and you'll be fine. The green is kinda
hilly, so the putt may be a bit tough.

Hole 4: 527 Yards
Par 5
HCP 12

With water greeting you on the left, you can't truncate the dogleg right very
much, if at all. Keep your first shot straight and true to split the fairway
between the water and sand. Your shot is going to go downhill, so the shot will
travel a little distance farther than the target. If you can't make the green
in two, aim your second shot to the left, making sure to stay far away from the
water. The green's hill is weird, so be careful when you putt.

Hole 5: 445 Yards
Par 4
HCP 4

Your first shot will again go downhill, taking the ball farther than you may
expect. Blast it, then follow it up with an easy second shot. The green is
relatively flat, giving a much easier putt than the last hole.

Hole 6: 404 Yards
Par 4
HCP 8

Another downhill shot stars off the 6th hole. The fairway is a little more
narrow than the others thusfar. Pot bunkers border the short stuff, but you
shouldn't have too much trouble if you've got your swing down. The second shot
will also be downhill, and it should be just as easy. The green is rather flat,
just like the last hole.

Hole 7: 171 Yards
Par 3
HCP 10

Ouch. This one is kinda tough, with all the out of bounds area between the tee
and green. Luckily, the green is large, so you can make a mistake and still
salvage par. Aim a little to the right and let it fly.

Hole 8: 450 Yards
Par 4
HCP 2

With pot bunkers guarding the fairway on the left side, not to mention an
uphill climb from the tee, you definitely need to aim right and not try to
truncate the curve. Your second shot will also be uphill, but not as much, to a
smaller green. The green, like the ones before it, is pretty flat.

Hole 9: 345 Yards
Par 4
HCP 16

This short par 4 has an obscene number and placement of pot bunkers. Be careful
when taking your first shot, because not only is all that sand a worry, but the
tree in front of you will hurt you if hook your shot. Aim slightly to the right
of the tree, and blast it. The shot will go uphill, so the ball won't go as far
as the target. Your second shot will be a light uphill tap to the flat green.

Hole 10: 579 Yards
Par 5
HCP 9

The first shot on this hole needs to go long, especially because you're dealing
with a nasty uphill. Watch those pot bunkers flanking the fairway when you take
your swing. On your second shot, you can do one of two things. You can either
kick the ball forward, taking the curve as it goes left, or just try to
truncate the curve entirely, landing on the green. If you try the risky move of
jumping over the rough, you'll need to watch out for the trees that are
determined to stop you. If you go conservatively, your third shot will be an
easy kick to the green.

Hole 11: 162 Yards
Par 3
HCP 13

I don't know why this hole is rated 13; I think this is one of the easiest
holes in the world. The shot is downhill, so watch that club power.

Hole 12: 385 Yards
Par 4
HCP 5

Your first shot is going to go FLYING, so blast it as deeply as you can. The
fairway is much wider than it may appear, and without any bunkers to trap the
ball, you'll be fine. Your second shot will also be downhill, so don't blast it
from there. The putt is flat as The Rock's abs.

Hole 13: 398 Yards
Par 4
HCP 3

There are two fairway targets. If you have a large power stat, you can get the
one on the far right. If you aim for the left fairway, make sure your shot is
weak enough so the ball won't go flying into the out of bounds area. If you do
decide to be aggressive, just be careful to watch the trees on the right side.
Your second shot will probably be uphill, but the green is fairly large and
very flat.

Hole 14: 177 Yards
Par 3
HCP 11

All you have to do is cross the out of bounds area. Watch the trees, and blast
it to the green.

Hole 15: 548 Yards
Par 5
HCP 7

The first shot is going to fly downhill, and because there is a large amount of
out of bounds area past the fairway, you'll need keep your shot relatively
weak. If you can't make the green in two, aim your next shot left to the wide
fairway. The green is fairly large and quite flat.

Hole 16: 375 Yards
Par 4
HCP 15

The first shot will be quite uphill, so blast it as hard as you can. Your
second shot will be uphill also. The green is flat, so nail it, and follow up
with the easy putt.

Hole 17: 382 Yards
Par 4
HCP 17

The first shot is rather straight-forward, but be careful of that pot bunker on
the right side of the fairway. The shot will go uphill, cutting the power
somewhat. An easy second shot to the green and a flat putt will end the hole.

Hole 18: 435 Yards
Par 4
HCP 1

The final hole has a long fairway flanked by pot bunkers everywhere. Your shots
need to go long and accurate to birdie this one. The first shot will go uphill,
so you'll need to muscle it. The second shot will also go uphill, and the green
has an uphill to match.

+-------------------+
4e. Black Rock Cove
+-------------------+

The second fantasy course of the game puts you next to a volcano. You'll have
to bring your A-game for this one.

Hole 1: 368 Yards
Par 4
HCP 14

The fairways are islands, with deep rough and bunkers between them. Fire your
shot toward the farthest fairway you can without risking burying the ball in
the rough. Your second shot will be an easy one to get to the green. The green
itself is hilly, so watch your putt.

Hole 2: 581 Yards
Par 5
HCP 10

Your first shot is way downhill, so you can seriously truncate the little
fairway curve if you have the power. Blast it as well as you can. The second
shot will be uphill as well, and it may be a challenge to get to the green in
two. If you can't make it, just hit the ball as close to the green as you can.
The green is a little hilly, so be careful of the putt.

Hole 3: 445 Yards
Par 4
HCP 2

Lay your first shot short of the bunker to the closest fairway. If you have a
lot of power, you can blast the power all the way to the green on your second
shot. Remember, you're firing it downhill, so you'll get a little extra power
anyway. If you can't make the green in two, lay up your second shot short of
the water, then fire it to the green. The green, luckily, is pretty flat.

Hole 4: 346 Yards
Par 4
HCP 8

This hole gives you a choice of fairways to shoot to. The safe fairway is on
the right, but the one on the left will give you a better approach. Either way,
the fairways are quite wide. If you went right, make sure that you add a club
to your second shot to make it up the hill. The green is fairly bumpy.

Hole 5: 368 Yards
Par 4
HCP 6

Another choice of fairways. Going left gives you a good lie to get to the
green, although the fairway is quite guarded by bunkers. The right fairway is
unguarded, but gives a slightly harder approach shot. The green is hilly, so
watch that putt.

Hole 6: 164 Yards
Par 3
HCP 18

An absolutely ugly par 3, the green is 193 feet lower than the tee. You'll need
about three clubs less to make the shot. The ball won't roll very much once it
lands. The green is pretty flat, making an easy putt as well.

Hole 7: 386 Yards
Par 4
HCP 16

The ridiculous uphill will make your shot lose a bunch of power, so you really
need to blast it. If you want to play it safe, follow the fairway on the right.
However, it's more than possible to truncate the curve over the sand, but don't
try it unless your power stat is relatively high. Your second shot will also be
uphill, and the green will be surrounded by bunkers, so be careful. The green
is a little hilly, but not too bad.

Hole 8: 324 Yards
Par 4
HCP 12

You actually have three choices here. The pot bunker in the dead center of the
main fairway splits the short stuff into two paths. You can also head left of
that to little fairway islands. All three paths are relatively the same, and
give equal chances to get the green in two. No matter what way you decide to
shoot, note that you're going uphill, so you may need a bit more muscle in your
shot. This green is pretty flat.

Hole 9: 561 Yards
Par 5
HCP 4

This one is tough, and presents you with another choice. Taking the right
fairway is extremely dangerous, with all the bunkers all over the place, but it
gives you a better position to get to the green. Heading left is safer,
although firing your shot wrong will dunk it. This time, it's all about
choosing the lesser of two evils. If you have high power and accuracy, I
recommend going right to better your chance of getting an eagle. Otherwise,
head left, and don't worry if you have to settle for a birdie or par. This
green is a nasty piece of business, so be careful.

Hole 10: 405 Yards
Par 4
HCP 3

The first shot goes up hill, so you need to really blast it. If you placed the
shot to the right side of the fairway, you can get to the green with your
second shot by splitting the rocks. If you can't make that distance (and it
takes a LONG blast to clear the lake), then hit a short side more along the
fairway. You can then easily make the green in three. The green is mostly flat,
but it's a little bent here and there.

Hole 11: 152 Yards
Par 3
HCP 7

This shot needs a little extra power to clear the river, but the green is easy
to putt on.

Hole 12: 359 Yards
Par 4
HCP 9

This fairway is awfully narrow, so you'll need a long, precision shot to split
the bunkers and rough. From there, it's an easy approach shot, with an easy
putt.

Hole 13: 511 Yards
Par 5
HCP 5

This hole is a bit weird, because it's on an S-curve. Take the first shot
straight, laying up short of the bunker and rough. If you're good at
intentionally hooking and slicing, slice the next shot to follow the curve
around. Either way, watch the drop on that second shot, as it will take your
ball quite a bit farther than you may want. Your third shot will also go
severely downhill, so don't blast it. The green is a little awkward, but you've
had worse.

Hole 14: 122 Yards
Par 3
HCP 17

Another sheer drop to the green, you'll need to go back a club or two. This
green is much smaller, which means you'll need a far more precise shot to pull
it off. The green itself is rather tame.

Hole 15: 413 Yards
Par 4
HCP 11

The fairway gets ridiculously narrow at one point, where it gets flanked by two
huge bunkers. Depending on your power, either lay up short of the bunkers, or
try to blast past them. You can TRY to land on that thin piece of grass, but I
wouldn't recommend it. The next shot should be easy to the awfully flat green.

Hole 16: 258 Yards
Par 4
HCP 13

This is an awfully short par 4, and you can easily get to the green in one.
Also, I totally suggest going for the green anyway. If the ball even touches
the green, then falls off and dunks in the water below, you'll get to drop the
ball ON THE GREEN for the birdie putt! The green is quite a bit lower than the
tee, so your shot is going to get extra legs.

Of course, if you're a wussie (or have a ridiculously low power stat), you can
take the fairway to the right side. Then, take that fairway to the island with
the green, and sink the easy putt.

Hole 17: 97 Yards
Par 3
HCP 15

Less than 100 yards? Wow. The challenge here lies in the sheer cliff your ball
has to climb, although it's easy to scale. The green is rather large to allow
for slight mistakes. Your ball won't roll much when it gets to the green, so
make sure to put extra strength into the stroke.

Hole 18: 616 Yards
Par 5
HCP 1

One more hole, and then we can get out of this volcano!

Your first shot needs to hit either fairway on the far island. The fairway on
the left is safer, because it's wider and concave (the ball will want to roll
to the center of the fairway). The one on the right is much smaller and convex
(the ball will want to roll off the cliff into the water), although you'll have
a much better approach if you can land it. The sheer drop will give your ball
the legs to get to either fairway.

Your second shot can get to the green, but you'll have to blast it. If you
don't want to risk it, then lay up short of the bunkers and land the ball on
the wide fairway to the right. You can then tap in the third shot to the green.
Either way, the second shot will go downhill. The green is a little bumpy, but
don't worry about it.

+------------------+
4f. Royal Birkdale
+------------------+

Royal Birkdale is the fourth and final real-life course. It's a rather easy
links course, with long fairways and deep bunkers, but there's no water, and
the greens are all pretty tame. This is one of my favorite courses of golf,
ranking it up there with TPC at Sawgrass.

Hole 1: 450 Yards
Par 4
HCP 11

This hole is a long and very forgiving dogleg left. Only four bunkers are on
the hole, and they're all small and easy to avoid. Send your first shot as long
as you can, truncating the curve as much as possible. Your second shot is an
easy and straight-forward blast to the pin. This green has only the slightest
of curves.

Hole 2: 418 yards
Par 4
HCP 3

This is another straight-forward hole, with a slight dogleg left. There's a few
shallow bunkers guarding the green, but it's cake to get past them. I don't
understand why this hole is rated so hard, but whatever.

Your first shot will go downhill. Blast it as hard as you can to truncate the
curve. This green is also pretty tame.

Hole 3: 406 Yards
Par 4
HCP 7

A long and curvy fairway, but otherwise, it's extremely tame. For the first
shot, just blast it as hard as you can. For second, do a soft approach shot.
Like others, this is a very flat green, so your putt should be easy.

Hole 4: 200 Yards
Par 3
HCP 15

An easy par 3. A hook or slice will send your ball into the sand, but a
straight shot will get you safely on the green for an easy putt. The tee shot
is downhill, so it will get extra distance, but won't roll as much.

Hole 5: 338 Yards
Par 4
HCP 13

This is a sharp dogleg right, with a green that's guarded on all sides by
bunkers. This is the first mildly challenging hole on the course, but it can be
beaten easily. If you're feeling brave, and you have high power, you can
truncate the curve entirely and make the green in one. If your power isn't that
high, lay your tee shot short of the curve, then follow it with an easy
approach shot. The green is slightly more hilly than the other four thusfar,
but it's not too hard.

Hole 6: 484 Yards
Par 5
HCP 1

The hardest hole on the course comes only a third of the way into the course.
The first shot should be aimed past the right bunker if you have the power to
get that far, or lay up to the left of the bunker if your power isn't so hot.
You should have a fairly easy shot to the green, and the green itself is flat.
This is by far one of the easiest holes to eagle in the game.

Hole 7: 145 Yards
Par 3
HCP 17

From the hardest hole to one of the easiest, this little par 3 should not give
you much trouble. The green is surrounded on all sides by bunkers, but if your
shot is straight, you'll be fine. It's downhill, but not by much, so there
won't be too much roll to your ball. There's a slight curve to the green, but
nothing too hard.

Hole 8: 410 Yards
Par 4
HCP 9

This one is a very light dogleg left. Blast it to truncate the rough as much as
possible. Follow that up with a soft shot to the green. The green has a light
curve to it, but you should be able to tackle it with ease.

Hole 9: 407 Yards
Par 4
HCP 5

Another very slight dogleg, this one going right. Aim for the very top of the
hill of rough (don't put the marker arrow there, just aim toward it). Blasting
it in that direction will truncate the dogleg and have the ball catch the
little hill to take it a bit farther. Use a soft shot to get to the paper-flat
green.

Hole 10: 384 Yards
Par 4
HCP 14

This a dogleg left that can easily be truncated. Just blast it as deeply as you
can. If you have high power, you may even be able to clear the trees. That will
give you an excellent placement to follow up with an approach shot. The green
is flat, and the putt is easy.

Hole 11: 374 Yards
Par 4
HCP 8

Another dogleg left. Truncate with care, because there's a bunker strategically
placed on the left side of the fairway. Your first shot is downhill, so it will
get a bit of extra distance. The green is slightly hilly, but nothing odd.

Hole 12: 181 Yards
Par 3
HCP 18

Oh man, it doesn't get easier than this. Though the green is surrounded by
bunkers, the pin is near the center, so the shot should be easy. The putt may
be slightly harder than what you're used to on this course, but again, it's
nothing too difficult.

Hole 13: 433 Yards
Par 4
HCP 4

A slight dogleg right greets you for hole #13. The fairway is slightly more
narrow here, and it's flanked by bunkers. Carefully place your first shot as
close to the center of the fairway as possible. An easy second shot will get
you to the green. This one has a little hill leading back to the fairway, so
watch your aim while you putt.

Hole 14: 197 Yards
Par 3
HCP 16

Another easy par 3. Just let it fly, and watch your aim. The shot is downhill,
so you'll get a little more power to your shot. The putt may be a little tough,
but you'll do fine.

Hole 15: 542 Yards
Par 5
HCP 2

This hole snakes around a few bunkers. Aim your first shot as straight as
possible to split the fairway. Launch it as deep as you can. Now, if you want
to be brave, go for the green on your second shot. If that's not an option, lay
your second shot as close to the green as possible, but be careful of the
bunkers all over the place.

Hole 16: 347 Yards
Par 4
HCP 12

A dogleg right with a bunch of bunkers. Truncate the curve as much as possible.
Launch it deep, and your second shot should only be a tiny tap to the green.
The green is flat, so make that putt like I know you can.

Hole 17: 497 Yards
Par 5
HCP 6

There's a tiny cut left, but otherwise this is just a very long freeway hole.
Blast it hard, and blast it deep. Your second shot should easily get to the
green, and this should be another easy eagle to your credit.

Hole 18: 472 Yards
Par 4
HCP 10

For the first shot, simply fire the ball as hard as you can in the direction of
the fork in the fairway. The target is slightly narrower than you're used to on
this course, but you shouldn't have too much trouble. Just be careful of the
two bunkers flanking the fairway. The second shot will be a little long, but
you can easily reach the green. One easy putt later, and another round is in
the books.

+--------------------+
4g. Tiger's Dream 18
+--------------------+

Oh boy. This is one seriously nasty course. Forget your A-game, you'll need
your P(erfect)-game to get anywhere on this course. Good luck, you'll need it!

Hole 1: 593 Yards
Par 5
HCP 2

The course opens with a nasty challenge. First, you have a choice whether you
want to left or right. The right fairway is extremely narrow, but that's the
only way you'll have a chance to get to the green in two. If you go left, fire
your second shot as far as you can over the rock (if you can clear it). You
should be able to reach the green in three.

Hole 2: 367 Yards
Par 4
HCP 10

Again, you're presented with a choice. If you don't have much power, you should
lay your tee shot up on the little island fairway on the right. If you're
feeling daring, blast the ball to the far fairway, and try to clear the rock
formation. If you took to the island, try to put your second shot just in front
of the little pond guarding the green. Take your next shot, be it your second
or third, directly at the pin. Be careful, because if you hit it too hard,
you'll dunk it. This green is pretty flat, so sink that putt.

Hole 3: 412 Yards
Par 4
HCP 4

From water to snow. Aim your first shot to the next island, and try to avoid
all those nasty bunkers. If you're brave, try to clear that bunker on the left,
but if you don't clear it enough, you'll have a rock between you and the pin,
making a birdie impossible. Your second shot will go downhill onto a flat, but
narrow, green. The putt should be easy.

Hole 4: 213 Yards
Par 3
HCP 16

Back to water. Two islands, one with the tee, one with the green. The pin is
located pretty far back on the green, so you'll have to really blast it. Make
sure you aim straight, you your ball will either drop into sand or water. The
green is pretty flat, so your putt shouldn't be too tough.

Hole 5: 376 Yards
Par 4
HCP 14

More snow. Taking the left fairway is far more dangerous, but gives you a much
better approach. The right fairway is safer, but you'll have less of an
approach shot. Either way, you'll be shooting uphill, so put a little extra
muscle into it. Take your pick, and make your second shot nail the green. The
putt should be easy.

Hole 6: 352 Yards
Par 4
HCP 12

Another choice. If you can get to the elevated fairway on the right, you'll
have a relatively easy shot to the pin. Or, you can launch the ball left to a
safer fairway, and follow that one up with a strong shot. If you do shoot
right, remember that you'll really have to blast it to get up the 19 feet.
Either way, get your target, and then nail your second shot to the green. The
green is a little wacky, but you can do it.

Hole 7: 454 Yards
Par 5
HCP 6

A short par 5 with a dogleg right. If you don't have much power, lay up your
first shot to the little fairway island to the left. Whether you do it then or
off the tee, target the distant island. Lay up short of the bunker if you have
to, or go to the right of it if your power allows. From there, you should be
able to get to the green, but no matter what your target is will be a very
narrow patch of grass. Aim carefully, then let it fly. The green is hilly, so
watch your putt.

Hole 8: 403 Yards
Par 4
HCP 8

This one is straight-forward... well, as straight-forward as any hole on
Tiger's Dream 18 is gonna get. Fire straight as hard as you can. Your second
shot will be downhill, and shouldn't require much power. This green has a nasty
little hill, so be careful when you putt.

Hole 9: 108 Yards
Par 3
HCP 18

This is the easiest hole in Tiger's Dream 18, and you shouldn't have much
trouble. Because of the extremely short distance, use your shortest club and
don't put full power into it. The putt is easy if you can land the ball near
the pin.

Hole 10: 548 Yards
Par 5
HCP 3

This one is made up of a series of islands. If you're feeling REALLY brave and
can drive the ball over 300 yards, you can SERIOUSLY truncate this hole. Go to
the right and look for three little rock pillars against the far island. The
two on the left and right are closer to you, and the middle rock is on the
other side of the island. If you aim for that middle rock and blast it, you CAN
make that island! That will seriously help you in getting an eagle.

If you can't make that, fire your first shot left on the first fairway island.
Place your second shot as deeply as possible. From there, it's just a short
blast to the green. The putt will be easy, as the green is quite flat.

Hole 11: 475 Yards
Par 4
HCP 5

You've got another choice here. You can shoot directly left, and actually go
OVER the rocks to massively truncate the dogleg left. You'll need a very strong
shot to pull it off, but if you make it, you can follow it up with a short shot
to the green.

If you can't make it, fire the shot as far forward as possible. Watch out for
all those bunkers, especially that big one in the middle of the fairway. Follow
this up with a long shot to get to the green.

Despite whichever way you got to the green, you should have an easy putt.

Hole 12: 160 Yards
Par 3
HCP 15

This is a very straight-forward hole. Carefully snake your tee shot between the
rocks and get to the green. The green is all weird and hilly, so take your putt
with caution.

Hole 13: 406 Yards
Par 4
HCP 11

You've got yet another choice here. If you take the elevated fairway on the
left side, you'll have an easy time to get to the green. If you go right,
you'll have to really blast it, because if you don't get it far enough, you'll
have trouble getting around the rocks to the green. Remember, taking the
elevated green means you'll have to put more power into your shot.

Either way, fire your second shot at the green, then lay in the easy putt.

Hole 14: 405 Yards
Par 4
HCP 9

This hole is pretty straight, with only the slightest dogleg left. Nail it as
far left as you can, but watch out for all the bunkers that are guarding very
strategic places. For your next shot, just get to the green. It's flat and
smooth, so you can easy make your putt.

Fred Dietrich (fishy1514@hotmail.com) has given strategies for the remaining
four holes...

*************************

Hole 15: 155 Yards
Par 3
HCP 17

Short par 3 with a mountain obscuring your view of the green, but just hit
right over it. The green is very small and surrounded by rocks and water.
Precision is a must.

Hole 16: 454 Yards
Par 4
HCP 7

Long par 4 with two fairways. The one on the left is around 200-250 yds off
the tee and fairly wide open with a bunker to avoid. This leads to a tough
second shot with a long iron that you may have to bend around a rock formation
that guards the approach to the green from that side. The other fairway is a
270 yd carry to a tiny strip of fairway that is guarded by two bunkers and the
rocks, but if you hit it, you have a short iron into a big, undulating green.

Hole 17: 338 Yards
Par 4
HCP 13

This short par 4 also provides some options on the drive. Shorter and
conservative hitters should hit to the right of the large rock outcropping to a
narrow fairway guarded by a large bunker and leaving a mid iron to the green.
Long, aggressive hitters can go to the left or over the rock outcropping and
possibly reach the green with a big blast. The green is flat and smallish,
guarded by a bunch of small, nasty bunkers.

Hole 18: 602 Yards
Par 5
HCP 1

This is probably the most visually stunning and scary holes in the game. The
entire hole is played inside a dark cave with water surrounding several island
fairways. The fairway to the left is very wide open and recommended for most
players. Extremely gutsy and long hitters can try for the tiny fairway in the
middle of the cave that is guarded by two bunkers and lots of water but allows
you to go for the green in 2 if you can get to it. Otherwise, from the larger
fairway, you can take a wood and try to hit onto the fairway about 90 yards
short of the green that is guarded by rocks and a bunker or go to another large
fairway on the right that is wide open but leaves a long iron or wood into a
small green guarded by bunkers short and rocks and OB long. A very tough and
exciting way to finish a round of golf.

And finally, ZHUKOV (who asked me to withhold his e-mail address) offers
another tip for the 18th hole...

*************************

The 18th hole is a par 5 (I think, I'm actually writing this at work from
memory). Scenic-wise, it's beautiful - an underground lake with holes in the
roof that let in shafts of light! Anyway, you have two options on the green -
a medium shot to the left with a huge landing area, or a shot to the middle
with a teeny little skinny landing area with rough and a sand trap. Go to the
landing area on the left, because if you hit it to the middle and don't put it
in the tiny fairway, YOU ARE SCREWED! YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ADVANCE THE BALL
WITHOUT HITTING IT INTO THE WATER! I beat "Super-Tiger" on the Tiger Challenge
because of this hole - we were all tied up going into the final hole, I opted
to play conservatively (golf is, after all, a conservative game) and
Super-Tiger tried to "school" me by going to the small island in the middle.
Because he went into the rough, he hit his next four balls into the water and
promptly surrendered the hole, giving me the default win!

5. TROPHY BALLS
+---------------+

In this section, I'll list all the Trophy Balls in the game, and the easiest
way to get them (if there IS an "easiest" way). Just remember that while it's
possible to get Trophy Balls with simply very high stats, having perfect stats
is really the only way to go.

Also, realize that using mulligans DOES NOT matter. For example, if you're
trying to get the long putt trophy ball, just set-up the long putt, then
mulligan it if you miss. The game doesn't care, so long as you actually make
that putt.

TROPHY BALL #1: Long Distance Drive
Requirement: Drive the ball at least 350 yards
Recommended Hole: 6th at Pebble Beach

Hopefully, you have 105 for your power stat. Use the Black Tees in the setup
screen. This lets you take advantage of the HUGE hill that you're aiming for.
During your backswing, jam that L1 button to get your power boost. While the
ball is in the air, hold up on the stick and jam L2 to put super topspin on the
ball. The ball will catch the hill and roll all the way down, plus the topspin
will carry it just a little further (or, you may miss the fairway entirely and
just smash it 350 yards anyway).

TROPHY BALL #2: Long Putt
Requirement: Sink a putt from at least 55 feet
Recommended Hole: 8th at Copperhead Canyon

The green is huge and flat, perfect for a long putt. Just make sure your drive
is fairly weak, because if you drive the ball near the hole, well, you won't
get 55 feet of green. ^_^ With mulligans on, the putt will be easy. If you
miss, just hit the Circle button and correct your aim, then try again.

TROPHY BALL #3: Fairway Challenge
Requirement: Have 100% driving accuracy for a round.
Recommended Course: Pebble Beach or TPC at Sawgrass

...Of course, if you're really good at another course, by all means go there.
All you have to do is drive the ball safely onto each of the 14 fairways of one
course (par 3s don't count because there's no fairway to hit). Pepple Beach and
Sawgrass have open fairways and easy shots. This Trophy Ball is very possible
to get before you have perfect stats. Just relax and check your aim before each
drive.

TROPHY BALL #4: GIR Challenge
Requirement: Have 100% Greens-in-Regulation for a round.
Recommended Course: Pebble Beach or TPC at Sawgrass

Getting to the green in regulation means getting your ball on the green two
strokes under par or better. That is, if you're on a par 4, you need to get to
the green in 2 strokes. This is actually quite easy; just follow my
hole-by-hole guide above, and you can easily get all 18 GIR of any course you
desire. Again, though, Pebble Beach and Sawgrass are easy courses overall,
making them your best bet.

TROPHY BALL #5: Pin Seeker
Requirement: Hit the pin (flag pole)
Recommended Hole: Any

It doesn't matter on what shot you hit the pin, just so long as you hit it. Go
to any hole and hit the ball lightly until it's outside the green by about 10
feet. (If the ball is within 5 feet of the green or on the green, the pin will
disappear because the game thinks you're going to putt.) Once the ball is where
you want it, use and approach shot with a weak club and aim directly at the
pin. If you miss, mulligan that bad boy and try again. You know, I'm not going
to mention mulligans again in the rest of this section because I'm pretty sure
you're getting it by now.

TROPHY BALL #6: Aces Wild
Requirement: Get a hole in one
Recommended Hole: Any Par 3, but for personal reasons, the 17th at TPC at
Sawgrass

Oh boy. This one can't be taught. You'll need some luck, and a good setup. Make
sure you have Wind set to Calm, and Rain set to Off. Take your shot and add
spin, because rarely can you get an ace without forcing the ball to move a bit
here and there. Keep trying, persistence will pay off.

TROPHY BALL #7: One Time
Requirement: Reach the green of a Par 5 in only one stroke
Recommended Hole: 18th of Copperhead Canyon

This hole is not a straight line, it's shaped like a U. Because of that, you
can truncate most of it with a very hard shot. Pick the White Tees in the
setup, then spin 90 degrees to the left. Hold Circle to zoom in... see that
little patch of green jutting toward you? There's your mark. Aim at it, then
swing away, and make sure you put FULL POWER into your shot, including the
power boost. Then, while the ball is in the air, put as much topspin on the
ball as you can. If the wind is with you, all the better. You may be able to
get an albatoss as well.

TROPHY BALL #8: Low Round
Requirement: Have a score under 60 in one round

TROPHY BALL #9: Birdie Streak
Requirement: Get six birdies in a row

TROPHY BALL #10: Birdie Buster
Requirement: Record 12 (or more) birdies (or better) in a round
Recommended Course: Whatever you're comfortable with

You can kill three birds with one stone, or three Trophy Balls with one club,
or something. If you birdie every hole of a course, you'll get the requirements
for Trophy Balls #9 and #10, and you'll have a score low enough to get you #8.
If you're good at a particular course, go to that one. TPC at Sawgrass is, of
course, my personal favorite.

TROPHY BALL #11: Back-to-back
Requirement: Get two eagles on consecutive holes
Recommended Holes: 2nd and 3rd at Pebble Beach

Because you'll never see two Par 5s next to each other, you'll need to eagle at
least one Par 4. The 2nd of Pebble Beach is a straight and short Par 5, plus
the green is relatively flat, so it's easily eagled if you have high power and
accuracy. The 3rd is a short par 4, and if you have high power, you can drive
the shot over the trees and make the green in one. Aim directly at the flag,
and the ball will sail over the trees, hit the green, then bounce near the
hole. Again, the green is flat, so just make the easy putt to get your second
eagle and 11th Trophy Ball.

TROPHY BALL #12: Top of the Tournaments
Requirement: Record a victory in all 10 tournaments of the game.
Recommended Beverage: Mountain Dew

The fact that you have the last tournament unlocked means that you've
completely beaten Tiger Challenge, which further means that your stats are
friggin' high. You shouldn't have any problem getting this one, especially if
you follow my hole-by-hole guide. It just takes some time.

TROPHY BALL #13: Eagle Extravaganza
Requirement: Get four eagles in a round
Recommended Course: Pebble Beach

Note that you don't have to get eagles in Par 5s, you just need four eagles. If
you did Trophy Ball #11 the way I described, you're already halfway to your
goal. Just eagle two of the other three Par 5s of that course, and a shiny
Trophy Ball will be yours.

TROPHY BALL #14: Scenario Challenge
Requirement: Complete all the scenarios in Scenario Mode
Recommended Headache Medicine: Tylonal

The scenarios challenge you, but all you have to do is COMPLETE them, not get a
gold medal in each. Hmm... maybe I should expand this FAQ to include strategies
for the Scenarios?

TROPHY BALL #15: Tiger Challenge Completion
Requirement: Complete Tiger Challenge by beating all 17 opponents
Recommended Snack: Doritos

Dominate in match play. Just enter Tiger Challenge and lay the smackdown on all
your foes. This one probably takes the longest of all the Trophy Balls because
you're pretty much starting with no stats and working your way up from the
ground.

TROPHY BALL #16: Eagle Hunt
Requirement: Eagle every Par 5 hole on every course
Recommended object to throw through the wall when you get frustrated: Your
controller

Under the Options screen, choose Achievements, then choose your profile. From
there, click Par 5 Eagles to see which ones you have and haven't done. My
hole-by-hole strategy talks about how to eagle all of them, so find the ones
you need and get them!
